News to share
In light of the ever-changing landscape and ongoing uncertainty with respect to the length of time that we will be in pandemic mode, our Board of Directors has decided to cancel our 2020 event. We will be in touch soon to share an alternate, online initiative in support of our mission of building safe learning environments for the children in Ghana. Schools of Dreams is a Canadian charitable organization dedicated to building or renovating schools in Ghana that are owned and operated by the government of Ghana. Through this partnership with the Ghana government, we provide students with the support and sustainability to empower their educational journey so that they may realize their potential to fully participate in the worldwide community.
Schools of Dreams was created as a passion project by the late Dora Anie (1949 - 2018) after visiting to her home village of Mepom, Ghana with her daughters in 2004. The poor condition of the schools and lack of classrooms for pre-school and kindergarten children sparked Dora’s dream to help these children access public education in safe spaces. What began as one project supported by Dora’s church congregation has grown into a not-for-profit organization with a dedicated board of directors, volunteers and supportive community partners.
